Eastlake Male Youth Initiative Welcomes Class of 2020
Atlanta, GA, September 23, 2019 — Eastlake Male Youth Initiative (EMYI) is excited to announce its very first incoming class of 2020. EMYI welcomed 18 impressionable young men into the inaugural program.
The 9-month leadership and mentoring program focuses on developing character and leadership skills by providing challenging workshops and exposure to prominent and successful leaders and mentors from the metro Atlanta area. The program, continuing throughout the school year, will consist of monthly workshops, one-on-one mentoring, leadership training, and exposure to sights and sounds of historical and cultural significance. Kicking off the program with a two-day retreat at Carver College, this eager group of students began to assimilate with counselors and each other while engaging enthusiastically in carefully planned activities.
The venue for EMYI is based from The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church, convening every 2nd Saturday beginning October 2019 and continuing through May 2020.
Please join us in celebrating these gifted and enthusiastic students in their decision and commitment to excellence, as we welcome the next generation of community and national leaders.
