Updated: Apr 24, 2019
Atlanta, Georgia, March 15, 2019 — The Truth Teller Inc. (TTT), a non-profit charity, today announced it will host its first annual fundraising event, Advocates for Excellence Charity Luncheon, on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The event will be an inspiring afternoon celebrating The Truth Teller's two-year milestone and raising funds for the A.P. Torrence Youth Leadership Academy, a one-week leadership immersion program for African American males.
The luncheon will be held at Atlanta’s historic Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and run from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Guests will hear a dynamic message from Mr. Ralph Boston, 1960 Olympic Gold Medalist, while enjoying a delicious three-course meal, entertainment and more.
“Our Advocates for Excellence Charity Luncheon is an ambitious effort to connect like-minded clergy, leaders and supporters based on our collective desire to make a difference in the lives of our African American youth. There is no more fitting way to celebrate our first charity luncheon by hosting Mr. Boston, whose drive and determination has inspired millions,” says Reverend Kenneth G. Torrence, The Truth Teller’s founder.
The Truth Teller Inc. (TTT), founded in 2017 by Reverend Kenneth G. Torrence, is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity with the mission to provide support and uplift for at-risk youth. The A.P. Torrence Youth Leadership Academy is named after the founder's father: the former President of Tennessee State University (1968-1975) and Provost of Tuskegee University (1975-1980). The Truth Teller will accomplish its mission through mentoring, education programs and workshops designed to reach, teach and empower; thereby creating a culture shift and living legacy of future African American male leaders.
